A native of Yorkshire and old enough to remember when you'd to be born there to play Cricket for the County, he is extremely proud of his roots.
His family moved from Leeds to Blackburn, Lancashire while he was still a child. Cotton Weaving, Papermaking and Brewing were the town's major industries. This last being the reason for crossing the border.
There's little love lost between the denizens of the neighbouring Counties. Nevertheless he and his partner, Jane have made their home here and wouldn't willingly move from the beautiful Ribble
Valley, situated north and west of the town.
There've been a couple of sorties to the South of England where work was more plentiful in the past. Neither long lasting nor particularly happy times. He's a Northerner at heart and likely to
remain so.
Recently telecommuting has enabled him to pursue his career from the tiny hamlet of Nabs Head in Samlesbury.
Never happier than when walking or cycling, with his partner in the surrounding countryside. Nick Alderson has a lifestyle many would envy.
Certainly, he can't believe his good fortune!
